You need exercises to strengthen your pelvic floor, stomach muscles, and back. They can help you improve your posture which can help with many kinds of back pain. These measures can help most people with sciatic pain recover quickly. Some people have lingering symptoms. You can take paracetamol to ease sciatica pain to try and help it. You can’t take ibuprofen during pregnancy, especially if you are in the third trimester. Some people also find relief with acupuncture, osteopathy, and chiropractic. There isn’t a lot of evidence about how well these treatments work.
There are several self-help tips you can use. You can alternate heat and ice packs to affected areas. Stay as active as you can; this can help ease your pain. Just don’t overdo it, or the pain could get worse. Try to avoid lifting heavy objects; if you can’t avoid it, just remember to lift from your legs. Listen to your body. Some women experience pain in just one side because of this. Make sure to sleep on the side that is pain-free.
